Privacy & cookies
Short version: the solver runs entirely in your browser, nothing you type is sent anywhere, and there are no accounts.
Last updated: 06 September 2026
What you type
The solver, the unscrambler and the hint tool all run as JavaScript inside your own browser. The dictionary ships with the page. Your guesses, your letters and your patterns are never transmitted to this site or to anyone else — there is no server-side component that could receive them. Opening the page and then going offline does not stop the tools working.
What is stored on your device
One item, in your browser's local storage: wt-theme, which remembers whether you chose
light or dark mode. It never leaves your device and you can clear it by clearing site data. No other
storage is used by this site's own code.
Analytics
Visits are counted with Plausible Analytics, which is privacy-focused by design: it sets no cookies, does not use browser storage, does not track you across sites, and does not collect or store any personal data or IP addresses. It records aggregate counts — page, referrer, country, browser, device size — that cannot be traced back to an individual. Because no personal data is processed and no cookies are set, no consent banner is required for it.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising served by Google, including Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
- Visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland will be shown a consent choice before any advertising cookies are set, and can change or withdraw that choice at any time.
What is not done here
- No accounts, no logins, no passwords.
- No contact forms and no newsletter — the only way to reach me is email.
- No selling or sharing of personal information.
- No content aimed at children under 13, and no knowing collection of their data.
Your rights
Because this site holds no personal data about you, there is nothing to request a copy of or ask to be deleted. If you have emailed me, you can ask me to delete that correspondence at any time by writing to contact@wordhintly.com.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you — most likely when advertising is switched on — the date at the top of this page changes with it.
